In Melbourne, Australia at this time of year, it’s ridiculously hot.
When it’s hot that is.
I can’t cope with the heat (especially since I’ve put on so much weight), which is one reason I love Melbourne so much. They say if you don’t like the weather, just wait a couple of hours – and they’re right! As Melbourne is right down the bottom of Oz, we tend to get icy winds from the south, which can quickly turn a balmy, sweaty, summer day into a freezy hot cocoa inspiring one. Freezy Australian days are my favourite.
As a part of this lent and from then on, I’ve decided to dress more intentionally and reverently for mass, a decision in part inspired by the wonderful initiative over at “What I Wore Sunday”. This morning I was delighted to wake up to a nice comfortable cool day, dressed for mass, walked out to the car and wow, I swear it felt like we’d gained 15 degrees celcius in a period of 30 minutes. My comfy wool jumper was suddenly oppressively hot and prickly, and my pants seemed to fit in all the wrong ways. Of course, I blamed the sun.
Did I mention that we had about 2 minutes to get these taken and jump in the car, or else we’d have been late for mass?
David (our timekeeper) was half frazzled worrying about the time and rightly so. We’ve been run off our feet the past few days. Lots has been going on with the three of us. I’m looking forward to writing a more detailed post with some photos from JJ’s movie night when I have some time but wanted to get this one up ASAP so I could link up with our friends over at.
Hope you had a wonderful and blessed first Sunday of lent. Much love to you and yours and God bless! Please say hi, leave a comment, and your blog address so I can pop over to your blog and do the same!
