  1. Just made this today & very pleased with it although plums were a bit tart, thought the cake mixture would be perfect for a Strawberry Shortcake also would be lovely with Apples, Peaches & Cherries.

    • Thank you, Jennifer! I’m so glad you liked it. You’re right – the plums are very tart in the recipe. I suspect if you blanched them and removed the skin that the tartness would disappear, however so would much of the plum flavour. We have just harvested our peaches and will be trying this recipe with peach over the next few days. xx E
